List Of Candidates whose CPS diplomas are Recognized by MCI/NMC
List of 466 students whose CPS diplomas are recognised by National Medical Council or Erstwhile Medical Council Of india.
Various Diplomas and fellowship courses offered by College of Physicians and Surgeons are recognised by some states including Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The students who these diploma and fellowship courses can register these post graduate medical diplomas in state medical councils of Maharashtra, Gujarat and some other states however since these diplomas are not recognised by Medical council of India or National Medical council they can not register these diplomas in Medical Council Of india.
However in a strange turn of events Government of India by gazette notification recognised PG Diploma and fellowship courses run by College of Physician and Surgeon on 17-10-2017 and surprisingly derecognised all these courses by another gazette notification dated 12-02-2018.
So since then a strange situation existed with respect to whether CPS diplomas recognised on 17-10-2017 and derecognised on 12-02-2018 were recognised for those candidates who took admission between these dates or for those who passed their courses between these dates?
Now Ministry of Health and Family welfare government of India have come up with a letter dated 18/10/2022 in which the Government of India have clarified in an unambiguous way that Diploma and fellowship courses (offered by CPS) of those candidates who took admission between 17-10-2017 and 12-02-2018 will remain recognised by NMC/MCI.
The letter issued by government of India also have a list of 466 such candidates (Annexure A) who took admission during this period.
The diploma and fellowship courses of these 466 candidates stand recognised by NMC/MCI and they are eligible for admissions to secondary DNB courses offered by national board of education (NBE).
