Are CPS Diploma Candidates Eligible for secondary DNB? Our Expert Answers.
Many of our our clients, students and resident doctors have wrote to us and asked about what will be the implication of communication dated 18/10/2022. Most of the candidates who has passed CPS diploma wants to know whether its possible for them to do secondary DNB at par with University Diploma candidates
We have asked our expert about this and the opinion of our expert is as following
1. Those candidates who got enrolled for any CPS diploma course between 17-10-2017 and 12-02-2018 are eligible to appear as secondary (post diploma) DNB candidate.
2. It must be clearly understood that it is about the date of admission to CPS course and not the date of passing of CPS diploma.
3.The opinion of the Central Government as conveyed by under Secretary in their letter dated 18/10/2022 is that since on the date of admission the course was recognized by MCI so it is not the fault of students taking admission since they genuinely believed that the course is recognised by MCI. Read Central Government Letter
4. But as far as other students are considered who took admission before 17-10-2017 or after 12-02-2018 at the time of admission the said courses were not recognised by MCI so they cannot claim that they took admission in MCI recognized Diploma.
5. But our expert has drawn attention towards a high court order in which the high court have allowed CPS diploma holders who passed exam between 17-10- 2017 and 12-02-2018 to appear as secondary DNB candidates. Read The Court Order Here.
So as per the rulesof central Government letter only those candidates who got enrolled for any CPS diploma course between 17-10-2017 and 12-02-2018 are eligible to appear as secondary (post diploma) DNB candidate. Read Central Government Letter Here
However
The court has allowed the candidates who passed CPS Diploma even after 12-02-2018 were to appear as secondary DNB. Read Relevant Court Order Here
Hope that answers the question.
