Plagiarism. What it it is? and what It is not?
Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s work or ideas without giving them proper credit. This can include copying text directly from a source, paraphrasing someone else’s work without citation, or presenting someone else’s work as your own. Examples of plagiarism include submitting a paper written by someone else as your own, copying and pasting text from a website into an assignment without citation, or paraphrasing a passage from a book without giving the author credit.
On the other hand, not plagiarism is giving credit to the original author when using their work. This can include properly citing sources in a paper, using quotation marks around direct quotes, or using paraphrasing along with proper citation. Examples of proper citation include including a quotation with a citation in a paper, or including a citation in a presentation for a picture or graph taken from a source.
It is important to check your dissertation work as well research papers and case reports for presence of plagiarized content before submitting it to the journal or university to avoid its rejection.
